Unlike to Erg Chebbi and Erg Chigaga, Zagora does not offer a genuine desert experience but is a rather decent decision tour for families with kids or anybody with constrained time. On the way, a break might be taken at Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou. When you arrive at Zagora, your guide will meet you and your camels will carry you along the Draa River Valley to your nomad tent at the small dunes where supper is served under the stars.
3 Hours Before Flight Time
We Leave Marrakech at 9h00, setting for the dunes of Nakhla. To start with, we travel over the Atlas Mountains which overlook the stunning landscapes of the encompassing wide-open countryside below. Having driven about 3hrs, we stop to visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, then we continue to Ouarzazate (approx 1 hour or so) for lunch at a nearby bistro. After lunch, we continue to the Drâa valley to reach the destination Zagora. After a break, we begin our 1h and a half Camel trek towards our desert camp in Nakhla.
After breakfast, we have 1h and a half camel ride to further explore the region and to return to Zagora. Here, we can wash ourselves and enjoy a break. From that point onward, we start our voyage, driving through the Draa valley and over the Atlas Mountains. On the way, we stop to eat and take memorable photos. We continue to Marrakech, arriving at about 18:00hrs.
