Essaouira, before 1956 was named MOGADOR, located at 176 km west of Marrakech, it’s a coastal small town, famous for its fishing port with its blue colored wooden boats, one of the oldest Moroccan cities. its old medina is listed by UNESCO as world history site. Essaouira is known for its Gnaoua (event where lots of music is played) each year in June, a day trip to Essaouira makes the visitor think about staying longer in a friendly, relaxing town.
