We leave Marrakech early, venturing out to Taliouine (984m), a primary trailhead for treks in the Sirwa massif. Here, we load our donkeys and set off for Akhfamane(1250m), where we spend the night in a Berber house (gite). This part of the trek is a clear and simple walk of around 4 or 5 hours.
(On the other hand, we can drive to Akhfamane if we arrive too late from Marrakech).
We walk along two river valleys towards our campground at Ti n’Iddr (1600m) – a walk of around 6 hours. Although the territory is generally barren with little shade, we go through a few little normal Berber villages surrounded by terraces.
Today includes a very difficult trek as it requires around 6 – 7 hours of walking. We pass through Atougha, the last village before the summit of Sirwa. Once we have passed Atougha, the trail becomes narrow and at times steep, with numerous zigzags. We pass just underneath Jebel Guiliz (2905m) before touching base at Tegragra (2650m) where we camp for the night.
We set off for the summit of Sirwa (3305m) after a promising start to maintain a strategic distance from the full heat of the day. The ascent of around 3 hours over troublesome landscape includes difficult terrain, some involve steep climbs, some scrambling and ridge walking. Nonetheless, you get sunning sees from the summit, which tries. After taking a break, we go down to Tizgui (2200m) where we camp for the night. The descent takes around 4 hours.
We proceed with our descent to Tizlit (1700m), close where we camp for the night. On our way down, we go through various lovely villages. The trek endures around 5 hours.
Regardless of being around 20 kms, the route to the camp includes nice and should take around 6 – 7 hours. On our steady descent, we go through terraced fields and little Berber villages to arrive, at long last, at Tinfat where we go through the night in a Berber house (gite).
From Tinfat we exchange back through Taliouine to Marrakech.
