Easy to medium and interesting 3 day walk from Imlil to Setti Fatma, incredible walking option in the Mountains which will take you through a lot of Berber villages, high mountain pass and walk down through the gorges of Ourika valley.
Our trek begins from Imlil at about 1h45 min. We hike upwards in an eastern direction towards Tizi’n’Tamaterte (2279m), heading through barley fields of walnut and apple trees to Tamaterte village. In Tizi, we will have a short stop to appreciate the beautiful Imlil and Imnane valleys with Berber villages extending around us. After passing the village, we will follow the pathway through the forest of pine and juniper trees. Then we proceed for one hour until the we reach Wanskra and Amagdoul villages. Here on the plateau, we will have our field picnic. Toward the afternoon we will spend 2 h to hike along donkey trails up through the valley to an old Berber village. We will spend our night in a gite d’etape in Tachdirth (2291m).
We begin with an early breakfast to gain strength for the following 6 h hike in the south-east direction to Timichi village (1850m). For the following 2,5 hours, the trek will proceed gradually up to Tizi’n’Tachdirth (3200m). Here we will be granted with an amazing panoramic view of Bouignouane (3882m) and JbelAksoual (3842m) on the one side and Angour on the other. Here we can also appreciate the lovely idea of Verdant valley extending underneath us. For the following 2 h, we will pursue a rocky pass in the northeast direction until we reach Laabbassen village (2030m). Here, alongside the spring simply outside the village, we will enjoy your field picnic. Toward the afternoon we will have a 2 h hike in the northeast direction down the valley to the Timichi village – an antiquated multi-layered terraced village encompassed by old nut trees. Here the supper will be awaiting us. We will spend a night in a traditional Berber family house.
In the morning we will have breakfast and then begin our 4-5 h hike through beautiful corn fields and walnut groves down the valley in the eastward direction. We will go through Tadrart and Anfli villages and make our way to the pleasant Ourika valley. We will have our picnic near the popular Setti Fadma village. After another thirty minutes hike, we will achieve our vehicle that will bring us back.
