Sahrho is a mountain range in southern Morocco. It is located south of the High Atlas and east of the Anti-Atlas in the northwest of Africa, northeast of Taliouine and southwest of Ouarzazate.
Leaving Marrakech, we roll over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass towards Ouarzazate. After a meal break, we keep heading to Tagdilt (1670m) where we go through the night in a run of the mill Berber house (gite) at the base of the Sahgro massif.
Today, in the wake of meeting the donkey group and stacking the donkeys, we begin a simple walking trek – a sum of 5 hours walking – bringing us into the lower regions of Jebel Sahgro. Amid the trek, we cross two passes and a level before diving into a lofty valley where we camp for the night.
We climb over the Kouaouch Pass (2500m), then we descend through breathtaking cliffs and waterfalls to touch base at the little village of Igli (2200m) where we spend the night in a Berber house (gite). The trek lasts 4 hours, with a lot of time for touring.
It is a quite a longer day of around 6 hours of walking. We ascend to a high ridge with unbelievable views. From here, we pursue a valley to the Berber village of Boulouze. Proceeding with the river, we reach our campground at the foot of Bab n’Ali.
After crossing Bab n’Ali, we descent through a gorge and beautiful rock formations. We proceed through the village of Assaka (1800m) towards Ighazoune n’Oumlas where we camp by the river Taoudachte – a total of 5 hours of walking.
We follow the river walking through a few regular Berber villages. Having walked around 5 hours, we arrive near Nkob where we remain in a Berber house (gite).
Leaving Nkob, we drive to Marrakech through the date palms of the Draa Valley over the Tinifift Pass, stopping for a lunch break in Ouarzarte.
