Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech to Imli

We leave Marrakech around 8h00 in the morning and drive for 1h20 south up the Moulay Brahim Gorges, then to Agersioual (1,600m), in the upper level foothills of the Western High Atlas Mountains. Here we leave the Vehicle and meet our neighborhood guide yo set out eastwards for some 12km walking to the Berber village of AIkkiss (1700m), over Tizi n agersioual pass (2200m). We eat by the river and then keep on walking up the Imnane valley then over Tizi n Tamter pass (2779m), from where we can see the two valleys, the Imlil Valley and the Imnane valley. We trek down from here for another 1h30 to the village of Imlil where we appreciate an evening meal in the charming Dar Adrar Guesthouse. The entire walking trek takes 6hours.

Day 2Imlil to Dades Valley

It is 6 hours driving voyage. We leave Imlil at 9.00am and head out over the Atlas Mountains, driving over the appealing Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass, going through lots of wonderful Berber villages. Arriving at the desert, we’ll see riverside desert oases and barren hillsides dotted with Kasbahs (fortified dwellings that house families and their livestock). Along the way, we have the option either to enjoy a break, or visit Ait Benhaddou, which is an antiquated braced city containing endless kasbahs and has been the climatic subject of various Hollywood motion pictures (The Mummy, Gladiator, Alexander, Lawrence of Arabia…) .When we reach Dades Gorge, we can go for a climb, or unwind at our hotel.

Day 3Dades Valley through Todra gorge to Merzouga

After breakfast, we transfer from the Dades Valley to Todra Gorges, which ascend to 300 meters in a thin valley with palmeries and Berber villages. Here, we can go for a climb to explore the palmery, an oasis loaded with vast date palms. After lunch, we set off for the entryway village of Merzouga to get supplies for our desert trip. From that point, we specifically set for a Kasbah to get our camels. At dusk, we begin a 90 minutes camel ride to a Berber camp where we appreciate a traditional Moroccan supper, and we eventually rest under the stars or in tents at a desert camp. (Total driving time 5hours)

Day 4Merzouga to Marrakech

We have a 30 minutes camel ride at sunrise to additionally explore the area and we return to Merzouga on our Camels. Here, we take a shower and have breakfast and then we start our adventure through the stony desert and over the Atlas Mountains. We stop for a lunch break, grabbing the chance to take vital photos. We for the most part touch base at Marrakech at about 18:00hrs.
